Yamaha India has launched two new upgraded models of its popular bikes Yamaha FZ-16 and FZ-S for the Indian customers. Yamaha’s main strategy for the Indian market is to grab a larger market share starting with the premium bike segment. The two new variants have been launched as a part of the same strategy. "With the refreshed versions of FZ16 and FZ-S, we want to strengthen our presence in the highly competitive 150cc+ segment and increase our share from 12 per cent to 20 per cent by year-end," said India Yamaha Motor Director and Chief Sales Officer Koji Arai.

The new Yamaha models are completely BS-III compliant and come with refreshed body-colour graphics. The complete makeover on the exteriors has been done to lure the young customers of India. FZ-S will be available in Black Cyber Green, Silver Tech and Sport Electric Blue colours while FZ16 will come in Lava Red and Midnight Black.

Yamaha sold nearly 85000 units of both the bikes last year which contributed to 40 percent of the total sales volume. The Yamaha FZ 16 is priced at Rs. 65,000 and FZ-S at Rs. 67,000 respectively.
