      Mercedes India registers highest ever monthly sales in February 2011

      The Indian unit of Germany based leading luxury car maker Mercedes-Benz has registered its highest ever monthly sales in the Indian market in the month of February 2011. The company managed to sell 662 units of its cars in the Indian market during this month, accounting for a 51 percent jump in its total sales over the units sold in the same month previous year.

      The sales of company’s volume driving C-Class surged 110 percent to 362 units in February 2011 as compared to 190 units sold in Feb 2010. On the other hand, the sales of company’s flagship E-Class model stood at 230 units as against 161 units sold in the same month last year. The sales of Mercedes SUVs also surged considerably. The company managed to sell 23 units of GL Class and 27 units of ML and R-Class (combined).

      Commenting on the company’s performance, Mr. Peter T Honegg, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India, said, “2011 started on a wonderful note for us and with the increased sales figures we are delighted that customers appreciate out brand value and have furthermore helped us in achieving this benchmark.”
