It is believed that the new generation S-Class will come equipped with a number of industry leading features, which will differentiate it with other same segment models. The car will be brought through Completely Built Unit (CBU) route, which is probably the reason for its hefty price tag. Coming to its technical specifications, the model will be powered by a 5-litre twin-turbocharged, V8 petrol engine, which will churn out a maximum power of 453 bhp with a peak torque of 700 Nm.

In the later half of 2014, Mercedes-Benz India is also expected to launch S350 CDI (diesel variant) in the market. Also, this version will be domestically assembled at the auto maker's production unit, which will help it to offer the car competitively amid price sensitive Indian buyers. It must be noted that there is no denying that S-Class will be an impressive model, as a whole. Some experts believe that the new S500 is meant purely for the elite class. Its large imposing grille with enticing headlamps makes more for a fast-back than limousine. The use of fabrics and material's used in its construction are much up to date. The drive chassis of new S-Class is made using aluminium and high-strength steel, which adequately balances its weight with rigidity. Interestingly, its suspension system uses aluminium as well, helping the auto maker to lose 100 kg on its new S-Class.

Along with head-turning exteriors, the interiors of next generation S-Class are warm, welcoming and extremely good. Inside the cabin, almost everything is either beautifully wrapped in leather or designed from metal or wood. The detailed paid attention could be clearly seen, which will surely leave the Indian buyers mesmerised. Also, the design and level of ergonomics will be best-in-class in the new S500. A 31.2 cm TFT screen has been fitted within the car for COMAND system and its functions with high resolution display exudes that it is a thoughtfully engineered masterpiece.

In terms of comfort, it can be undoubtedly said that the seats are big and cushy, which offers massage as well. The arm rests are ergonomically located, complimenting the seat adjust feature on all four seats. Experts believe that no matter where passenger is seated, he/she will be comfortable. It can be said that while sitting in S-Class and looking at its interiors, 'Sitting on serene and watching the serenity'.
