      Mercedes Benz releases images of B Class facelift, India launch in 2015

      Set to make an appearance at the upcoming 2014 Paris Motor Show, Mercedes’ B Class facelift has already been revealed through a set of official images released by the German auto maker. The company has also revealed details about the 2015 B Class facelift. Following the public display in October at Paris Motor show, B Class facelift will make its debut in European markets on November 29, 2014. The facelift version of B Class will also be brought to India; however Mercedes may line up its launch in 2015. For the domestic market we expect the car to be priced between Rs 28 lakh to Rs 32 lakh.

      Cosmetic upgrades include comprehensively tweaked front profile that bears resemblance with A Class. Redesigned front bumper sporting larger air dams and restyled head lights with an option of LED lighting render a more modish semblance to the vehicle.

      Revisions have also been made to the rear profile of the vehicle, a new bumper has been equipped and besides this a chrome strip and dual tone LED tail lights sum up the tweaks made to the rear. Additional features incorporated inside the cabin include a new three-spoke steering wheel and larger 8-inch infotainment display. Customers get an option of 12 colours for the ambient lighting.

      Mechanical set up has been retained from the outgoing version, Europe-spec model will house the same petrol and diesel engines as powering the current version. Among its few firsts will be Mercedes’ 4MATIC all-wheel drive system that will be offered on B 200 CDI, B 220 and B 250 variants.

      B Class Sports Tourer will face off with other vehicles in its segment such as Volkswagen Golf Sportsvan, BMW 2 Series and Active Tourer.
