      Luxury car segment in India witnesses two new model from Mercedes Benz in the country today. Mercedes Benz announced that it has launched two new E Class variants - E230 and E220 CDI. The ex-showroom Mumbai prices would be Rs. 41.44 lakh and Rs. 38.99 lakh respectively. The E230 model is available as 2.5 litre V6 petrol engine with 7G-tronic transmission while E220 is a 2.2 litre 4-cylinder diesel engine.

      "The E-Class has sold more than 10,000 units in India since its introduction in 1995. Now, we have introduced Bi-Xenon headlamps in the exterior coupled with a three-way memory package and electrically adjustable steering wheel, all of which are now standard with the vehicle. The two new engines will further add to the popularity of the E-Class," Mercedes-Benz India Managing Director and CEO Wilfried Aulbur said in a statement.

      Mercedes is synonymous with luxury in India. The three point star rules the Indian mind and heart any day as compared to its competitors like Audi or BMW. It earlier discarded its title Daimler Chrysler India and changed it to Mercedes-Benz India. It has revised its marketing strategy as well and not plans to sell more cars in the country that before. It has already achieved more that 50% of its 2007 sales during first 5 month in 2008. It shall also launch a luxury bus in India in partnership with Sutleh Motors in India. It shall be creating the bus body and the model shall be launched in second hald of 2008.
