After rolling out fifth vehicle in theAMGline-up in India, GL63AMG, Mercedes seems keen on adding yet another name inAMGline-up. Mercedes Benz India has updated its official website with the newCLA45AMGthat was exhibited at the 12thAuto Expo held in February this year. It implies that Mercedes Benz is contemplating to bring forthCLAsedan inAMGversion to the domestic market. In a time span of one year, the company has launched five vehicles in theAMGrange including GL63AMGthat has been launched today, G63AMG, E63AMG, C63AMGandSLK55AMG.
CLA45AMGis the performance oriented avatar ofCLAsedan, the vehicle is expected to break cover in India by the end of current year.CLA45AMGunderpins A-Class, the former borrows most of its styling components from A45AMG. The saloon will be inducted as a completely built unit in India, which means that it will carry a heavy price tag. An expected price ranging between Rs 55lakhto Rs 65lakhis being speculated for the compact saloon.
Mercedes will power the compact sedan with a 2.0 litre direct-injection turbo-petrol motor that generates a top power and torque output of 355Bhpat 6000 RPM and 450Nmrespectively. Engine enables the saloon to sprint from zilch to 100kmphwithin 4.6 seconds, attaining a top speed of 250Kmph. Engine is paired with a seven-speed, dual-clutch automatic transmission that transmits power to all wheels through Mercedes’ 4MATIC all-wheel drive system.
The premium compact saloon is well equipped with safety features, among the preeminent safety features nine airbags, adaptive brake with hold function and attention assist are likely to be present.
