      Maruti Suzuki to launch the new Ignis in India tomorrow

      Maruti Suzuki Ignis will be launched in India tomorrow. First showcased as the Suzuki iM-4 concept at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, the Ignis will be offered as a Nexa product in India.

      The Ignis is based on the global design language as Maruti Suzuki intends to make the car look modern. It is squarely aimed at the millennials with the funky tall-boy hatch styling and a distinctive front and rear end. When launched, it will be available in six body colours, and have projector headlamps with DRLs, blacked out A- and B-pillars, black coloured alloy wheels with a gloss finish. The cabin of the Ignis in unlike any other Maruti vehicle sold in India. The interior is redesigned to lend the Ignis a fresh feel on the inside. In terms of features, the Ignis will be offered with a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, ABS with EBD, dual front airbags, climate control, steering mounted controls, and a digital instrument cluster.

      The Ignis will available in 14 variants across both petrol and diesel options with five body colours to choose from. The variants are – Sigma, Delta, Zeta, and Alpha with a Delta and Zeta variants getting the automatic transmission in both petrol and diesel options. Engine options include the K-Series 1.2-litre petrol unit producing 89bhp and 115Nm while the diesel is a 1.3-litre DDis engine putting out 75bhp and 190Nm.

      Bookings for the Ignis have already started for a booking amount of Rs 11,000. The expected price is between Rs 4.5-9 lakh as the Ignis will face competition from the likes of Mahindra KUV100 and Hyundai Grand i10 when launched in India.
