Notably, the Alto 800 has been introduced to commemorate the completion of the one year of the model in the country's market. Only recently, the auto maker had launched the MusiK Edition of the Alto K10 and now, with the launch of the Anniversary Edition of the Alto 800, the tally has been taken to two. Industry experts feel that the introduction of the Anniversary Edition is an excellent ploy by the company to attract buyers in the festive season. According to reports and statistics, there is no other brand that is trusted more in India than Maruti Suzuki. In addition, analysts suggest that the Anniversary Edition is likely to do well in the market without any advertising or marketing campaign. Sources close to this development suggest that Maruti Suzuki is hoping to maintain its dominance in the Indian car market despite unfavourable conditions. To ensure this, the company is banking upon these special edition variants.

Launched at an ex-showroom (New Delhi) price of Rs. 3.12 lakh, the Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 Anniversary Edition has been equipped with a number of added features to make it an attractive package. Although the specifications of the car remain the same, tweaks have been made to the appearance and interiors. This variant of the Alto 800 gets purple haze body colour and new body graphics, which are likely to enhance the style quotient of the vehicle. Other changes that have been made include the addition of new seat upholstery, blackened B-Pillar, body side mouldings, door trims, rear parcel tray and body coloured outer rear view mirror (ORVM). In addition, customers willing to shell out a little more can get a music system, which comes as an option with this edition of the Maruti Suzuki Alto 800.

The Alto 800, since its launch about a year back, has taken the Indian car market by storm. Not only has it raked up high sales figures, the hatchback has also been appreciated by critics and buyers. The car has been praised for its styling, compactness, affordability and fuel-efficiency. Add to that the brand value of Maruti Suzuki, the results are there to be seen for everyone. Maruti Suzuki is among the few car makers at present that have managed to do reasonable business despite challenging conditions. Now, with conditions set to improve, it will only be time before the firm rakes up high numbers and registers tremendous sales figures.
