The India-made Maruti Baleno had recently been exported to the Japan and European markets. As part of company’s plans to export the vehicle to over 100 countries, the company has reportedly started exporting the hatchback to US, Australia and New Zealand markets as well. The Baleno might probably help Suzuki regain its lost share in the US since it withdrawal from the American market in 2012.

In India, the Maruti Baleno comes with a 1.2-litre engine which generates about 83bhp of power, while the diesel gets a 1.3-litre engine which generates 75bhp of power. The car comes mated to a five-speed manual, while CVT is optional only in the petrol variant. As for the US, Australia and New Zealand markets, the export Baleno will get a 1,373cc, 4-cylinder petrol engine. The hatchback will be offered in manual and CVT option.

The Baleno for the Australian and New Zealand market will be right-hand drive (RHD) version, while the US market will get left-hand drive (LHD) model. The Maruti Suzuki Baleno will be on sale in the international markets this year and will be loaded with the mandatory international safety features.
