The one on test featured safety equipments like front seat belt pre-tensioners, dual front airbags, ISOFIX anchorages, seat belt reminder and ABS system.
Based on test results, the India-made Volkswagen Vento has scored 5 stars in the adult occupant protection category, whereas in child occupant protection the sedan has scored 3 stars. The vehicle was rated 'stable' and could withstand higher impacts. The Vento sold in India is offered two petrol and one diesel engine option. The petrol 1.2-litre engine generates about 103bhp, while the 1.6-litre trim generates about 104bhp. The diesel on the other hand gets a 1.5-litre option that generates about 103.2bhp. Apart from 5 speed manual, the Vento is also available in 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission.
