      Land Rover, the iconic British multinational premium utility vehicle maker and subsidiary of Indian automotive giant Tata Motors, could be launching its Freelander 2 model in domestic the market during first half of 2013. The compact Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) is one of the company's most popular offerings and is offered in many international markets at the moment. As per reports, premium luxury SUVs like Freelander 2 and Evoque contribute a major fraction of sales witnessed across the globe by Land Rover.

      The yet-to-be launched Land Rover's 2013 Freelander 2 compact SUV will come trimmed with a number of coming-of-age interior and exterior attributes. The stylish model is expected to feature 17 inch split spoke alloy wheels, huge front grille, state-of-the-art LED head and tail lamps, which underline its futuristic overall design language. Premium luxury SUV enthusiasts could see a mesmerising revamped centre console coupled with a 5 inch Infotainment screen and multimedia system in interior cockpit of the upcoming 2013 Freelander 2 model. Further, the compact SUV is anticipated to come trimmed with a passive starting system, which enables one to start the vehicle without inserting key in the ignition. An electric paring brake system that automatically controls braking pressure according to the terrain will also feature in Freelander 2's overall package.

      Coming to under-the-hood specifications, Land Rover's 2013 Freelander 2 model is anticipated to come fitted with either a 2.2 litre, four cylinder, turbo diesel engine ED4 (in 2x2 two wheel drive) or TD4 (in 4x4 four wheel drive). The peak power outputs are believed to be in order of 150 bhp or 190 bhp, depending upon the power-mill incorporated under its hood. The engine assemblies are to be offered mated with both manual and transmission systems, which will be fully capable of displaying the prowess of Freelander 2 on any uncertain and demanding terrain thrown at it. The most attractive feature is that the powerful Land Rover model will feature much fawned upon All Wheel Drive (AWD) system with Terrain Response as a standard option.
