KTM Duke 200 and Duke 390, bikes from the Austrian manufacturer, have received upgrades, states the report by Autocar India. The motorcycles, a part of the firm’s naked bike range, have been on sale in India for quite some time and have performed well. KTM, which works in India in collaboration with Bajaj Auto, has promoted its Duke range quite aggressively in the country and now has upgraded the Duke 200 and 390.

The success of KTM’s naked range has severely outdone its off-road range, which is on sale across the world. Consumers have shown great interest in this particular range and played a role in the upgrades. The upgrades done to KTM Duke 200 and 390 have been done after taking feedbacks from existing customers, who have contributed by giving opinions. Though no change has been made to the configuration, certain technical additions have been effected. Among these additions is the introduction of a slipper clutch in the Duke 390.

KTM has shown keen interest in what the customers had to say and acted accordingly. The upgraded versions of Duke 200 and Duke 390 will feature better seats, indicators, front fork sealing, reduced throttle opening angle (77 degrees), new handlebar gripes and engine generator. Seats of these models have been improved through the increase in foam thickness and stiffening of the bases. On the other hand, the new indicators are said to be sturdier and come with water penetration-resistance. Despite making several additions, the firm has made a small hike in the price. Industry experts believe that this small quantum of hike compared to the updates is likely to be beneficial for KTM in Indian market. The new KTM Duke 200 and 390 have prices of INR 1.41 lakh and INR 1.94 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai).
