Isuzu has begun teasing an updated version of the present Isuzu MU-X which sells abroad and is also due in India later this year.
Though details are sketchy at the moment, the teased images show the MU-X’s exteriors with a redesigned nose that incorporates a restyled grille and tweaked head lights, along with updated LED tail lamps. The interiors, on the other hand, highlight a more premium cabin thanks to the upgraded leather and other soft touch materials.
Presently, the international MU-X has a 3.0-litre turbo-diesel motor under the hood that produces 176bhp and 430Nm of torque. It is mated to either a six-speed manual or automatic gearbox. Though not confirmed, sources suggest that the facelifted MU-X could first be launched in the Thai market next month considering this SUV rolls out of the production facility in Thailand.
In India, the Isuzu MU-X will take on the likes of the new Fortuner, Endeavour, and Pajero Sport. It was spotted testing here in November 2016 and should hit our market sometime later in 2017. However, it remains unclear if this teased model could be introduced instead of the present model, to keep our market in line with the brand’s international product portfolio.
