Hyundai already marks its remarkable presence in the Indian automobile market with its Santro. The car had been a wonderful success ever since it was launched in 1998 and has received only a minor face lift since then. The company now feels that the customer saturation has started setting in for this car. Besides, Palio and Maruti models in the similar segment are encroaching on the market share to a large extent.

It plans to sell its Hyundai TB that would fall in between Santro and Accent. TB stands for ‘Think Basic’ and has been earlier introduced in India as Hyundai Getz. It promises to be slightly bigger than Santro with more striking looks and a total face lift from its earlier version. The Indian customers are known to opt for better looking models. Earlier, the preferences heavily relied on the mileage and price factor. The new India is more experimental and driven towards better styles and models.

The new Hyundai TB would be able to carry five passengers with more spacious interiors and shall come with 3 engine types to choose from. So far the car has been primarily targeted towards the European market. The changing scenario of the Indian automobile industry and changing preferences of the Indian auto-consumers has led the company to think on introducing the model in India.

Although it would launch the model in India only after its international launch, however, the company holds the reputation to be the only company to bring its latest models to India as soon as they are launched internationally.
