      Hyundai India exhibits 'First Ball' of ICC World Twenty20 2012

      India's second largest car maker, Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) unveiled the ‘First Ball’ for ICC World Cup, which is scheduled for this year. Also known as the largest car exporter of the country, the auto maker has the official permission to exhibit the set of cricket balls, through which the first Twenty20 match will be played on September 18, 2012 in Sri Lanka.

      The company representatives will hand over the balls to umpire who will then decide to choose one from the whole set, which will be used in the opening match played between Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka.

      The ‘First Ball’ campaign was designed to bring together the cricket aficionados and provide them a unique opportunity by becoming a part of celebration moments of 2012 Sri Lanka ICC World Twenty20 world cup.

      On the new development, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of HMIL, B S Seo, quoted, “The ICC World Twenty20, 2012 is a great opportunity for us to combine a nation’s passion with Hyundai’s commitment to the sport. We are delighted to be associated with ICC as official partner till 2015. With the showcase of the ‘First Ball’ for ICC World Twenty20, we aim to reach out to our customers and provide them with an unmatched experience and at the same time build up the momentum for this landmark cricketing event.”

      The auto maker showcased the cricket ball in cities like New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Lucknow. In order to make the event appealing, the balls were exhibited in an exclusively designed Hyundai Eon. As a part of promotion, the auto maker also organised special activities at its official dealerships, including games and quiz on cricket trivia, contests on juggling balls, and a special graffiti wall was designed on which the audience was allowed to pen down their views on their favourite players and teams. The preview was planned at selected official dealerships of the company between September 6 and 9, 2012.
