Market leader in the two wheeler segment Hero Motocorp has appointed Ashok Bhasin as the new head for sales, marketing and customer care operations in India. In the past Bhasin was associated with Reckitt Benckiser as the head of Central Africa operations. He would be reporting directly to company's Vice-Chairman, Managing Director and CEO Pawan Munjal. Bhasin shall also be a part of the leadership team.
Speaking more on the occassion, Munjal said, “As part of leadership team at Hero MotoCorp, Ashok will also contribute on broad strategic directions of the company.” In the Indian market, the company has already gained a good footing, whereas in the international market the bikemaker has soon been building a good presence in markets like Africa, Asia, South and Central America. Prior to Reckitt Benckiser, Bhasin had been associated with Whirlpool where he started off as Director – Marketing (India), later progressing on to being appointed as Vice President – Marketing (South Asia), and thereafter as Global Director, Whirlpool Corp, USA.
Prior to Bhasin, Anil Dua, Senior Vice-President for Sales and Marketing had quit the servives sometime last year. It is said that all the vertical heads in national sales, marketing and customer care fucntions shall be reporting to Bhasin. A while ago the company had also roped in Markus Braunsperger as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) from BMW, Germany and Markus Feichtner from Austria's AVL to head its newly-created division of New Engines Design and Development within the R&D function. The company has also got in Rajat Bhargava from McKinsey & Co, to head its corporate strategy and performance transformation function, and has also hired Sanjay Jorapur from Honeywell, as the Chief Human Resources Officer.
