      Ford Ranger Raptor

The Ford Ranger, a popular American pickup truck spotted testing its upcoming ‘Raptor’ variant. The spy shots of the American pickup give us an idea of how the new vehicle would look like once it takes off its cloak.

The spotted test mule sports a more aggressive front end compared to the other 2019 Ranger prototypes that were spotted recently. Other cosmetic changes include wider fenders, flared wheel arches and a raised ride height, unlike the one on the standard Ranger model.

Our spy photographers confirmed that they heard a diesel mill churning under the hood of the prototype. As a result, it is our belief that the Ranger Raptor will be powered by the 3.2-litre diesel motor identical to the one we see in the Ford Endeavour. The other engine on option could be the 3.5-litre V6 Ecoboost from the Ranger, however, it will be tuned higher for the Raptor. Some version of the smaller 2.7-liter Ecoboost V6 may also make its way to the engine bay of the new Ranger Raptor. The Ranger Raptor could be offered with a new 10-speed automatic gearbox co-developed with GM.

Expect the Ranger Raptor to be unveiled in early 2020, as it will be launched after the standard Ranger model. The Ford Raptor Ranger will compete against the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2.
