Fiat India has once again deferred the launch of its most awaited model, Fiat Linea in India. The company will now launch the model on January 15, 2009 than its earlier scheduled launch of mid-December.

The company attributed the delay to the Mumbai terror attacks and stated that they cannot celebrate when the whole country mourns. "We have postponed the launching date of Sedan due to recent Mumbai terror attacks. We don't think this is the right time to celebrate when the whole country is mourning. We will launch the car in mid-January next year," the company official said from its Pune plant.

Linea is a C-plus segment sedan and was launched in the international market in May 2007. Fiat India expects to sell 70,000 units by the year 2010 in India. The model will be presented in both petrol and diesel models in the country.
