      Fast & Furious star Paul Walker passes away in a car accident

      In a shocking news that sent ripples across the American film fraternity, it was leant that Paul Walker has passed way in a car accident that occurred in Southern California. Reportedly, the actor was on his way to a charity event in a red Porsche Carrera GT driven by his friend, which crashed into a light pole after being engulfed in flames. The tragic death of Paul Walker has left a major void in one of the world’s most successful movie franchises, Fast & Furious.

      In a statement released on the actor's Facebook page, it was written "It is with a truly heavy heart that we must confirm that Paul Walker passed away today in a tragic car accident while attending a charity event for his organisation Reach Out Worldwide. He was a passenger in a friend’s car, in which both lost their lives. We are stunned and saddened beyond belief by this news.''

      After the news of Paul Walker's death broke out, social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter were abuzz with tributes and homages. Many actors from Hollywood expressed their sadness over the tragic loss of Paul Walker. His co-star from the Fast and Furious series, Vin Diesel wrote on a social networking website: “Brother I will miss you very much. I am absolutely speechless. Heaven has gained a new Angel. Rest in Peace." Rapper and actor Ludacris, who has also worked with Paul Walker in the fabled series wrote “Your humble spirit was felt from the start, wherever you blessed your presence you always left a mark, we were like brothers."

      Paul Walker gained fame from his role as undercover agent 'Brian O'Conner' in the Fast & Furious series. Walker was one of the protagonists along with Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez. Fast & Furious series gained prominence worldwide with the gravity defying stunts and high-adrenaline races that were shown in films. The first instalment was released across the globe in 2001 and currently the seventh part is in production, which began in September and it is still not finished. The film is scheduled for release in July 2014 and now with Walker's death, uncertainty looms over the release date. Walker was working on the latest “Fast & Furious” movie at the time of his death. Apart from this, he recently completed shooting for a suspense drama named “Hours”, which is all for release in December 2013.
