DSK Motowheels, the current distributer of Hyosung motorcycles in the Indian auto market, seems preparing to bring the Italian bike maker Benelli here. This report comes from the stables of Autocar India. Presently, the company sells the bikes of Hyosung, which ranges between 250 cc and 750 cc. All these bikes are assembled at its Wai plant and they are looking to establish another unit in Maharashtra.
It must be noted that Benelli is counted among the oldest bike makers in the world, which make bikes between the engine displacement of 300 cc and 1131 cc. The bikes made by Benelli bear contemporary looks, which makes them stand apart from European and Japanese bikes. However, industry experts are of a view that since the brand is not known in the Indian auto market, it will be very difficult for the DSK to establish it here.
Reportedly, as DSK Motowheels is also engaged in a partnership with Korean bike maker Hyosung, it will be little difficult for the marketing company to advertise the models of Benelli in the Indian market. On the other hand, auto aficionados from all over the world appreciate the models introduced by the Italian auto makers. Though a brand like Benelli might be a costly affair for the price sensitive Indian buyers, the fortune of auto maker is not so bright here.
