Bosch has recently come up with a conclusion after months of analysis and statistical studies on the growing patterns of car purchasers. This has been done after studying the different patterns of powertrains used worldwide. According to the study, it has been found out that every fifth vehicle, which is sold in Japan, is a hybrid automobile model. On the other hand, when it comes to automobiles in China, the majority of the market is biased towards spark-ignition engine models. India and Europe are the ones, which mostly rope in for the diesel cars. Bosch found out a number of interesting facts after making a thorough analysis of powertrains.

When the global trends of automobiles were studies, it was found out that the most popular powertrain were the petrol engines. China provides the largest market for petrol-run models, which showed almost 100 per cent of the new cars to be petrol-based. USA and Japan are also ahead in the race for petrol-oriented models with almost 75 per cent of the total car population. The main reason of the popularity of these models is downsizing of engines, which has led to the reduction of fuel consumption by almost 15 per cent.

On the other hand, diesel engine models have found a stronghold in India. In fact, the most interesting aspect that was revealed during the research procedure was every second car that was sold in India was a diesel model. Most of the core markets are teeming with diesel models because of their growing popularity. Apart from India, the European market has also shown their love for these models. The main aspect for their popularity is the 25 per cent lesser fuel consumption when compared with standard petrol-run automobiles. Apart from that diesel cars can deliver up to 40 per cent more torque as compared to their petrol counterparts.

Japan has a market of hybrid cars and it was revealed that every fifth car sold in the country is of a hybrid-make. This has led the country to become the global leader in this segment of automobiles. Growing with the trend, a number of other nations are also following Japan in this aspect. The number will show a stark increase by the end of this decade, as according to the forecast of Bosch. Apart from these models, the CNG-run cars will also form a significant number in the market. Over the past decade, the concept of these alternative modes of fuel has risen. Their impressive performance has made way for more production of such cars in the recent future.
