The country’s largest luxury car maker BMW is all set to roll-out its popular luxury sports utility vehicle (SUV) – X3 – in the Indian market soon. The car is expected to hit the Indian roads by June this year. With this, the company will also invest about Rs 180 crore in the country by year 2012, in a bid to expand its production capacity in the country along with expanding its dealership network.

According to a recent statement given by Andreas Schaaf, president of BMW India, “The X3 to be launched in India will be assembled from completely knocked down (CKD) kits at the Chennai plant.” The X3 model will be competing with the likes of Audi Q5 in India.
