      Audi rejoices the inaugurations of a new outlet in NCR

      Audi, the German luxury auto maker, has set up a new showroom in West Delhi, which has further consolidated the company’s presence in one of the main markets of luxury cars. On 20th April 2012, the senior officials of Audi India announced the inauguration of its third outlet in Delhi at Naraina Vihar, which is named as Audi Delhi West. Following with this, the company has also planned to set-up an advanced service station in this may at Shivaji Marg.

      At the opening ceremony of this state-of-the-art showroom, the company also launched its iconic car Audi TT. The outlet was inaugurated in the presence of Tarun Kapoor, Managing Director, Audi Delhi West (Sterling Vehicle & General Sales Pvt. Ltd) and Michael Perschke, Head, Audi India.

      Mentioning about the new showroom, Perschke said, “The launch of Audi Delhi West showroom amplifies our presence in one of the key markets for luxury cars and provides us with an opportunity to capitalize on the growing demand for luxury automobiles in the region. The opening of a new showroom and workshop in Delhi West reiterates our commitment to offer our customers an unparalleled luxury experience of class defining products and world-class services that truly reflect our core brand values of progressiveness, sophistication and sportiness. We are happy to be associated with Sterling Vehicles for their deep automotive market understanding and wide portfolio.”

      The newly launched Audi TT is a sports coupe, which holds a performance oriented 2.0 TFSI petrol engine. At its launch ceremony, the car is priced at Rs. 49, 48,000 (ex-showroom Delhi) and will be delivered to the company’s dealership in June 2012.

      At the time of launch, Perschke said, “We have already taken a prominent position in India’s luxury car market with the right product portfolio and robust dealership network across the country. I am confident that our impressive sales performance YTD coupled with the launch of Audi TT and our fast expanding dealer network will ensure that Audi maintains its position as the fastest growing luxury car brand in India. Audi’s brand pull in 2012 is supported by 22 awards for class defining products such as the A8, A7 and the A6 and this portfolio creates an attractive franchise for retail entrepreneurs, where we today can choose from the best partners of the automobile retail industry.”

      The new showroom of the company sprawls around a vast area 9,300 square feet. The exteriors of this outlet are provided with a honeycomb aluminium fascia, which goes with the reputation of the company. The display area of outlet can showcase 9 cars, and thus it will showcase the complete array of Audi cars offered in India. The newly opened outlet also has Audi Shop and Audi Exclusive elements, wherein the buyers can purchase original custom-made accessories.

      In addition to this 17th outlet, the company has planned to expand its dealership network to 25 centres by the end of this year. Last month, the company inaugurated its new outlet in Nagpur, while opened new retail centres in Delhi, Chennai, Ludhiana, Surat and Indore last year. With the help of these outlets, Audi registered decent sales figures in the first quarter of 2012 as the company delivered 2269 cars in India, which marked an impressive growth of 41 per cent against the corresponding period last year in which it sold 1611 units. Moving with a positive attitude for 2012, Audi reported sales of 1002 units in March 2012, which showed an increase of 47 per cent, under the review of 681 units in March 2011. These figures were almost parallel to the company’s annual sales figure of 2008 in which registered sales of 1050 cars.
