      Audi India inaugurates its first showroom in Goa

      Audi, the completely owned brand of Volkswagen Group, has opened the doors of its first dealership in Goa, which happens to be company's 7th unit in Western India. The ribbon of Audi's futuristic facility was together cut by Head - Dealer Development, Audi India, Rahil Ansari, and Venkat Muppana, the Managing Director of Audi Goa (MVR Automobiles Private Limited).

      On the inauguration ceremony, Head of Audi India, Michael Perschke, quoted, “The launch of Audi Goa showroom amplifies our presence in one of the key markets for luxury cars and provides us with an opportunity to capitalize on the growing demand for luxury automobiles in the western region. We see a huge potential for growth in Goa and are happy to have found the right partner in MVR automobiles. Their rich experience of over 50 years in infrastructure projects across the region makes them the ideal partners for Audi in Goa.”

      The recently launched showroom of the German auto maker sprawls across a vast area of 7516 square feet. Facade of the facility is designed using honeycomb aluminium, which enables the facility to remain parallel with the Audi's identity standards and global corporate design. The display area of new showroom can easily accommodate six models, and the company has offered it entire model line-up for sale in Goa. Besides, the auto maker has provided Audi Exclusive elements and Audi Shop, wherein the buyers can ask for customised accessories and ask for an array of Audi's official merchandise.

      Adding to the statement of Perschke, Venkat Muppana, said, “It is a matter of great pride for us to be associated with Audi. At Audi Goa, we ensure that customers are provided with a distinct luxury experience that the brand with the four rings is known for globally. Audi's global leadership position and its unparalleled commitment to luxury is what has driven us at MVR automobiles to deliver this world-class facility. Keeping in mind Audi’s global and India strategy, we will strive for the No.1 position in Goa in months to come.”

      Perschke further said, “We are aiming for the No.1 position by 2015 and each milestone achieved is further spurring our speed towards the top spot. To tap further into the underlying growth potential of the luxury automotive market of India, we have chalked out our dealer expansion strategy to reach the maximum number of potential buyers across the country. It is important for us to be present wherever our customer is and in line with this commitment, we have already expanded our base in 21 dealerships across the country. By end of 2012, we will have at least 25 dealers pan-India, with plans for new dealerships in markets like Lucknow and Kanpur among others.”

      With its new facility, the company will also control its exclusive service facility, Verna Salcate, based in Verna industrial area. This unit is spread over an area of 8735 square feet and has the potential to service 8 models a day in a single shift with a total of 4 bays. The professionals recruited at this unit are well versed with the special techniques and ensures that their customers are provided with world-class services.

      Apart from Goa, the company has inaugurated its new showrooms in Bhopal, Coimbatore, Delhi West, Nagpur and Navi Mumbai, this year and further plans to open the doors of four new dealerships before the end of 2012.

      Between January and August 2012, the auto maker reported impressive sales of 5406 units, which enabled the company, surpass its annual deliveries of 2011, which stood around 5511 units. Moving ahead with a positive outlook in 2012, the brand with four rings marked a growth of 48 per cent during the period, under the review of sales recorded in corresponding period which stood at 3655 units. In August itself, the car maker reported a growth of 42 per cent by delivering 726 units against 510 cars delivered in year-ago period.

      In its Indian product portfolio, the car maker currently offers the new Audi A4, A6, A7 Sportback, A8L, Q3, Q5, Q7, S4, RS5 Coupe, TT Coupe, the super sports car Audi R8 and the Audi R8 Spyder. The German auto company has maintained its official dealerships in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Delhi South, Delhi West, Goa, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kochi, Kolkata, Ludhiana, Mumbai West, Nagpur, Navi Mumbai, Pune and Surat, and with all these facilities it is distributing its entire model line-up all across the country.
