Audi India announces recall of 6,758 units of A4 sedan

Audi has been one of the popular choice when it comes to picking a popular German luxury brand in India. This time around Audi has reportedly stated a requirement for certain upgrades with the air bag control unit in its hot-selling A4 sedan in the country. Audi has issued a nationwide recall of about 6,758 units of A4 sedans that have been manufactured between November 2011 to October 2014 stating software upgrades in its airbag control unit.

A statement released by the company reads, “This activity is specific to Audi A4 cars manufactured between November 2011-October 2014. There are 6,758 Audi A4 identified for this software update campaign. The proactive step of software update is being done towards setting parameters for effective deployment of airbags.” Reportedly, this is a second recall announced by the company in less than a weeks time, the first one being a recall of about 382 units of Q7 Sports Utility Vehicle. The Audi Q7 was recalled citing a faulty vacuum line in brake system.

Audi A4 customers shall be intimated dealers with an appointment at their workshop to fix the issue with airbag control unit. It is said that the company has already initiated the process and the problem shall be fixed at the earliest.
