An automobile dealership and a luxury car maker received a legal notice from the actor-director Deepak Tijori, as he claims he has been defrauded by them. According to Tijori, he went to the dealership of a premium car manufacturer one year ago as he wished to buy a luxury car. He had then paid an advance of Rs. 3.5 lacs to the dealership after it promised to provide him a good deal with discounts. Both parties agreed that the actor will pay the balance amount after the deal is finalised. He was also offered a loan of Rs. 12.45 lacs by the finance division of the alleged car maker.
Tijori stated, "I did not fill any order form nor was the car registered in my name at the RTO. Yet, monthly instalments started getting deducted from my bank account. By the time my chartered accountant brought this to my notice, Rs. 3 lac in EMIs had been deducted. This means that the entire loan amount must have been disbursed to the dealership, despite the car not being given to me,"
The dealership did not bother to respond to his query in this regard even two months after he raised the issue. He was asked to email them when Tijori brought this to the notice of the dealerships staff in March. To top it, company sent a letter to the actor stating that he has failed to pay up when the Bollywood director finally stopped paying the EMIs. He said, "The staffer from the auto dealership who had interacted with me has left the job. I'm sure there are others who have been similarly defrauded."
