      2012 Chevrolet Captiva 2.2L launched at a starting price tag of Rs. 18.74 lakh

      The Indian unit of the US based leading car maker General Motors has launched a new variant of their popular luxury Sports Utility Vehicle Chevrolet Captiva in the Indian market with a starting price tag of Rs 18.74 lakh.

      Speaking to the reporters on the occasion of the launch of new Chevrolet Captiva variant in the Indian market, Mr. Lowell Paddock, President and Managing Director at General Motors India, said, the Captiva is everything our customers across India have come to associate with the Chevrolet name plate. In India, it has established a clear niche for itself in the premium SUV segment."

      The new variant of the Chevrolet Captiva is powered by a 2.2L engine, which is much more powerful as compared to the previous 2.0L version of this SUV. It delivers a peak power of 186.5 bhp at 3,800 RPM along with a peak torque of 424 Nm at 2,000 RPM. The power packed engine unit of the car comes coupled with a six-speed automatic transmission.

      Rolled-out in a price range of Rs 1,874,062 - 2,459,000 (ex-showroom Delhi), the new Captiva 2.2L boasts a flexible seating arrangement of a five-plus-two with a cargo space of 1,565 litre. The SUV is equipped with six airbags and a number of other safety and security features.
