      About BYD

BYD Auto is an automotive division of the Chinese manufacturing giant Build Your Dreams (BYD). BYD Auto was established in January 2003 after taking over Qinchuan Automobile Company in 2002. It produces various vehicles, including battery-electric, plug-in hybrid and conventional petrol-powered ones. Additionally, the company also makes battery-electric transit buses, coaches, vans and trucks.
BYD is believed to be one of the largest electric and plug-in hybrid car makers in the world. Interestingly, BYD partnered up with Daimler AG in 2010, establishing a joint venture called Denza. Denza makes luxury electric vehicles. BYD has also joined hands with Toyota to jointly develop electric vehicles.

BYD recently entered the Indian market with its all-electric E6. However, the MPV is exclusively available for business and commercial usage. Also, the brand is likely to make its debut in the passenger car market.
