MG eRX5

The eRX5 was displayed on 11 January at the Auto Expo 2023.

Variants:

The MG eRX5 will likely get one variant here in India.

Feature list:

The front of the SUV is dominated by a massive grille that closely resembles Lexus’s spindle grille. That said, it gets slim LED headlights with DRLs integrated on top. The fog lamps are placed vertically in the lower bumper. The SUV also gets flushed door handles, giving its side profile a very smooth design.

At the rear, this MG SUV gets a roofline with an extended spoiler integrated into it. Then there are sleek inverted-C-shaped LED taillights connected with an LED strip running across the width of the boot lid.

On the inside, the SUV comes equipped with a single-piece, 27-inch screen spanning the width of the dashboard. Other than that, the eRX5 gets a three-spoke steering wheel and an upright-positioned centre console with a brushed aluminium finish, crystal gear selector, and tan leather upholstery.

Engine, performance, and specifications:

The eRX5 is powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine coupled with an electric motor which produces 243bhp and 570Nm of torque. The transmission on offer will be a 10-speed automatic unit.

Safety:

It has not yet been tested for safety ratings.

Price:

The MG eRX5 is expected to be priced at Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom) in India.

Competition:

The MG eRX5 will rival Tata Harrier, Jeep Compass, Hyundai Tucson, and others in the Indian market.
