Feature list

Similar to the current-gen Kia Carnival, the KA4 will also be available in seven-, eight-, and nine-seat layouts. Adopting an SUV-like styling, the new Carnival gets the familiar Kia fascia seen on the Korean carmaker’s international models. It gets the familiar sliding door with an electric function as well and the flat roofline lends it an imposing character. The stylish C-pillar gets some chrome garnish and that makes the D-pillar appear to have a wraparound styling. The rear gets a sleek LED bar on the upright tailgate.

The cabin of the new Carnival matches that of all the Kia models like the Seltos and the Carens. You get a floating screen atop the dashboard and an all-digital driver’s display along with many features like a dual sunroof, wireless charging, hands-free powered tailgate, hands-free power sliding doors, power and ventilated front seats, three-zone climate control, window sunshades for the rear passengers, and a 12-speaker Bose-sourced music system. Apart from these features, the Carnival also gets level 2 ADAS with highway assist.

Engine, performance and specifications:

Internationally, the KA4 is offered with a 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine that puts out 290bhp and 355Nm. The power is sent to the front wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission. Here in India, we expect the KA4 to be offered with the Carnival’s existing 2.2-litre diesel engine, which develops around 200bhp and 440Nm and comes paired with an eight-speed automatic unit.

Safety:

The Kia Carnival has not been tested for Global NCAP ratings as yet.

Competition:

The Kia Carnival, when launched here, will rival the Toyota Innova Hycross apart from the Jeep Meridian and the Skoda Kodiaq along with full-size SUVs like the Toyota Fortuner and the MG Gloster.
