Mercedes-Benz Maybach S-Class

Summary 
The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class can be had in either of the two variant options – S580 and S680. The S580 is locally produced, while the S680 has been introduced via the CBU route. Prices for the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class were announced on 3 March, 2022.  

Exterior  
The new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is now 18cm longer than the standard S-Class. Visually, the vehicle gets a Mercedes-Maybach radiator grille and distinctive bonnet with a chrome fin. Moreover, the ‘Maybach’ badge has been integrated into the chrome surround of the grille. As for the sides, the vehicle gets flush-fitted door handles and a unique set of 19-inch wheels. For added convenience, the vehicle gets electrically operated rear doors. Also, the ORVMs feature LED ambient lighting, which projects the brand logo next to the opened front doors. 

Interior  
The vehicle gets premium upholstery, 12.8-inch fully-digital instrument cluster, Heads-Up Display (HUD), 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, MBUX connectivity, and active road noise cancellation technology. In terms of features, the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is equipped with next-generation advanced driving assistance, massage function for the calf, neck and shoulder, heating function for the rear seats, and adaptive rear compartment lighting.   
The safety feature list includes PRE-SAFE, 13 airbags (including the two beltbags), Car-to-X Technology, Urban Guard Plus, Level 2 autonomous driving with ‘Evasive Steering Assist’, Active Brake Assist with ‘cross traffic function’, and more. 

Engine and transmission  
Mechanically, the Maybach S-Class S580 is powered by a 4.0-litre V8 engine with an integrated second-generation starter alternator (ISG) and a 48-volt onboard electrical system to produce 496bhp and 900Nm of torque. This model is capable of sprinting from 0-100kmph in just 4.8-seconds. On the other hand, the S680 is powered by a 6.0-litre V12 engine which produces 603bhp and 900Nm of torque. Both the engines get the 4MATIC all-wheel drive and the top speed is electronically limited to 250kmph. Additionally, the vehicle also offers four-driving modes, including the new ‘Maybach mode’. 

Seating capacity  
The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class has a seating capacity of four occupants. 

Rivals 
The Maybach S-Class competes against the likes of the Lexus LS.
