Mercedes-Benz AMG E53

The Mercedes-Benz E53 4Matic+ has joined the AMG-spec E-Class line-up for the first time in India. This new entry-level performance model in the E-Class lineup gets some special AMG treatment in terms of design, interior and mechanical. The sporty sedan is available in six exterior colour options.

Design

Being an AMG, the E53 has a sportier appearance as compared to the E-Class LWB thanks to the AMG exterior styling kit. It gets a Pan-Americana inspired grille with vertical blades finished in chrome. There is a typical AMG bumper too. In addition to that, the sedan comes with a redesigned rear bumper that includes a rear apron and circular quad exhaust tips. Besides, Mercedes-Benz has provided high-performance LED headlights, AMG ride control and a set of 19-inch AMG alloy wheels.

Interior

The E53 4Matic has an all-black cabin with red contrast stitching and red seat belts. Additionally, this cabin features Artico leather upholstery for the seats, dashboard and inside door panels. Besides, there are two 12.3-inch MBUX displays with an additional AMG Track Pace feature. Mercedes-Benz has also provided an AMG steering wheel and AMG sports seats in the front.

Engine and Transmission

This AMG E53 4Matic+ is powered by a 3.0-litre turbocharged inline six-cylinder petrol engine that generates 429bhp and 520Nm of torque and is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. There is also a 48-volt mild-hybrid system to provide an additional, limited-time power boost.
