Mercedes-Benz E-Class All-Terrain Overview

German car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz will further expand the E-Class line up in India with the upcoming E-Class all-terrain. Basically a muscular version of the E-Class Estate, the E-Class all-terrain will be limited to four-wheel drive variant.

To start with, the E-Class all-terrain will be powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine that generates 192bhp of power and 400Nm of torque. The powerful engine comes mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission which powers all four wheels. The muscular version of the Estate will additionally be offered with an All-Terrain driving mode along with the regular Eco, Comfort and Sport modes. As for safety, the vehicle will get acceleration skid control, electronic stability control, brake assist system, adaptive braking system and attention assist.

As for the exterior, to distinguish it from the Estate version, the E-Class all-terrain gets grained plastic cladding all around the vehicle to add an off-road character to the vehicle. Moreover, the E-Class all-terrain offers an additional 29mm ground clearance over the standard estate. The vehicle is expected to be offered with optional 19-20 inch alloy wheels. The all-terrain Mercedes-Benz will get a skid plate at the front which will protect the engine bay from unexpected obstacles.

The E-Class all-terrain shares the interior details with E-Class sedan. The equipment list is inspired by the Avantgarde interior line with optional ‘Exclusive’ and ‘Designo’ fitments. To distinguish it from a regular version, the vehicle also gets exclusive aluminium-carbon parts, stainless steel sports pedals with rubber studs, and floor mats with an ‘All-Terrain’ engraving. Moreover, the vehicle will get dual 12.3-inch screens with multiple camera angle support.
