It was launched in 2011 and set a new trend of being the only spacious sedan in the mid-size category. It gets a new trapezoidal grille which makes the looks feel more premium than before. This is followed by large boomerang shaped headlights. Though it gets external and internal updates, the powertrain remains the same and it is still offered in petrol and diesel engines.

Interiors have been tweaked too in the form of a new steering wheel whose design has been carried from their flagship luxury sedan Teana. The central console has been revised too and with the smooth piano finished trims. The dashboard colour has been revised and a new USB jack placed in the recess above the glove box. The Sunny continues to impress all with its spacious interiors and great legroom.
