The 12 engine types are divided into three categories that comprise of diesel, petrol and Flexifuel. Petrol engine types are 2.0, 2.5T, 3.2, 3.2 AWD and T6 AWD. Further, the diesel engines are 1.6D DRIVe, 2.0D, 2.4D, D5 and D5 AWD. Two Flexifuel engine type comprises 2.0F DRIVe and 2.5FT DRIVe.

The company also has plans of launching a diesel plug-in hybrid of the Volvo V70 car in the coming months in the European markets. All these variants have important features like preventive safety, protective safety, child safety equipment and security. Some of the preventive safety features in Volvo V70 cars include driver alert control (DAC), lane departure warning (LDW), active bending lights (ABL) and collision warning with auto brake (CWAB).
