Swedish luxury auto major Volvo has launched the 2022 XC40 Recharge in India at Rs 55.90 lakh (ex-showroom). The electric crossover is available in a single trim, called the XC40 Recharge P8 AWD. Volvo will assemble the XC40 recharge at its Hoskote plant in Karnataka, while its deliveries are scheduled to commence in October 2022.
The XC40 Recharge is based on the combustion-powered XC40 in terms of exterior. However, the electric version of the crossover distinguishes itself with a closed-off grille painted in body colour, distinctive 19-inch alloy wheels, redesigned and slimmer daytime driving lights, and a new front bumper.
Inside, the XC40 Recharge features a 12-inch driver display, Google-powered nine-inch central information touchscreen in portrait orientation, electric sunroof, wireless charging pad, powered front seats with memory settings, two-zone temperature control, and 13-speaker Harman Kardon sound system. Besides this, Volvo also offers a few ADAS features with the electric crossover, such as adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assist.
Under the bonnet, the XC40 Recharge P8 AWD gets a dual electric motor setup (each one on the front and rear axle) linked to a 78kWh battery pack that generates 402bhp and 660Nm of torque. It has a WLTP-certified travel range of 418km on a full charge. Further, the XC40 Recharge can go from zero to 100kmph in 4.9 seconds and tops out at 180kmph. Regarding the charging, Volvo provides an 11kW AC home charger with the XC40 Recharge. It can also be charged from 10 to 80 per cent in 28 minutes with a 150kW DC fast charger.
Meanwhile, the all-electric XC40 Recharge comes with three years of comprehensive warranty, a service package, and roadside assistance. The customers also benefit from eight years of warranty on its battery pack and a four-year subscription for the digital services.
