      Faulty car sold to me

VW is a proven cheater and they don't care about their customers one bit. VW has not learnt anything from the hefty fine on cheating in USA. When a company can cheat the most powerful government in the world, how will they care about us? VW sold a faulty car to me last year and I've been trying to put my point across the who's who in VW, both in India and even Germany for more than an year now, but to no avail. The problem is that they sold a faulty car to me. The paint on top corroded with 6 months of buying the car The welding from the joint cracked as well. Within 1 year, the battery had to be replaced and I had to pay for the same. After a few months, the coolant leaked while I was on tour 500 kms away from hometown. This happened within 5 days of getting the car serviced. How on earth can something like this happen within a week of servicing the vehicle. I'm 100% sure that they would have charged lakhs from me had the car not been under warranty. The customer care does not respond at all.

        Whats Good

Strong Built, Nice average but huge servicing cost as compared with competetors

        What Can Improve

Rear door power window controls with driver (Missing), rear passenger control to set from passenger seat. LOw ground clearance can be improved for Indian roads.

One all a good car but co. officials are non concerned about the customers even after raising concerns to company officials.

Dear Sir, I have purchased Volkswagon vento 1.6(MT) trendline in Oct 2011. Since then I am regularly driving the Car on daily basis. I regular cover around 15-20 KM per day. From last 2-3 days I found the problem in shifting the gear while driving the CAR on inclined roads. Once I select the gear to 2nd,3rd and 4th even though accelerating the vehicle I am not able to move forward the VEHICLE but in 1st gear it is working fine on inclined roads. When I contacted the service centre person he suggested me to replace the gear selector mechanism. But I am very disappointed by hearing this, because • Its only 3rd year and such a major gear transmition failure happened in the CAR • My feeling is volkswagon is the most reliable design and within 3rd year of car purchase such major failure is causing me to change my perception • After I purchased the CAR my 16 friends purchased the CAR in my company and your company has selected “Secure Meters Limited Udaipur (Rajasthan) in corporate discount list • I am the single person who drives this car • I am driving the CAR on daily basis since 1998, almost 16years. • I drove Maruti, Hundai and never found any problem in their CAR but the first experience of Volkswagon is very bad for me. • Till date I covered near to 22000KM I am attaching the snapshot of same for your reference. Request you to please look into the problem and give me proper resolution by replacing this gear selector mechanism. I hope you also conduct the root cause analysis of this problem. I took the delivery of my new VW Vento Petrol Manual Transmission Highline on 4th Oct 2010 from Pune. Till date (30-10-2010) I have clocked around 2200 Kms. Following are my observations about the car. First of all do not expect any help from VW customer care if u put in a mail to them. They simply do not bother to read the mails or give a standard reply without readng the mail. One problem i have faced with the car is that the owners manual page 35 says that when the car is centrally locked the doors can be opened from inside after trying more than once. However in reality the door opens from inside at the first instance. The VW dealer in Pune says that the owners manual is wrong when i wrote to the customer service they gave a reply saying that we have noted the problem and our delear will get back to you inspite of telling them that the delear is unable to solve the problem. Overall I must say that the car is very good and the handling is also superb. Other than the problem mentioned above I have not found any problems with the car so far.

Pros : Great over-all quality. Cons : Lacks features like Blue-5, steering wheel controls, etc Look and Style is quite good. I have got used to people taking a second look. Comfort: The climatronic A/C is very good. Cools (not chills) uniformly. Although a bit noisy at blower speeds above 3. Suspensions are superb. Comfortable even on recently dug-up & filled up roads ( I think most Indians know I am trying to say). Strangely though, I have sometimes experienced a big 'thud' on relative small pot-holes. One probable reason could be suspension's bottom spring mount plate which is mounted pretty low. Driving position is very good. I could adjust the seat to 'my' ideal position. Internal space is quite good. My wife & kids are very happy. In my previous car, we were used to storing a lot of sundry items (files, purse, etc.) behind the rear seats; this is simply not possible in Vento. Anything you keep there is bound to fall on the seat due to it slope. Stereo sound quality is ok, but lacks many features (I am not just talking about Blue-5 which I really miss. But also about simple CD navigation / information features). Pickup: Sometimes, while over-taking on highways, I felt the power was lagging. Mileage: I got around 400Kms from my first tank-full (50 Ltrs), an average of 8 Kmpl. In my next one, I have average of about 12 kmpl. Could be because my initial driving was mostly in city (my workplace is around 3Kms away from home) & it is only in last week that have driven on highway Best Features: Smooth ride, overall build quality, looks, driver information system, A/c Needs to improve Need to provide Dead pedal, Blue-5, Steering mounted controls & a better stereo. Mileage could also be improved. Driving: Drive is really smooth. Absolutely no vibrations or sound in idling. Braking is great & very stable. Dead pedal is something I really miss. Sometimes, while over-taking on highways, I felt the power was lagging. The gears are smooth & have a good feel. But needs to be changed fast, especially on lower gears. Arm rest is at correct height & really conformable. Overall the car is very stable, even at high speed (although I rarely travel at more than 110kmph). The steering wheel gives a feeling of being in command & responds very well in all speeds & road conditions. The rear view mirror is hopeless. It is better to turn-back see for yourself OTHERS: The driver-information system (or whatever they call it) is pretty interesting. But not exactly accurate. I have take care that I concentrate on the road & not on this display. In 2-3 days of taking delivery of the car I noticed that bonnet alignment was a bit out. There gap on one side was more as compared to other. When I took the car to showroom, initial reactions was that I am imagining it! (The difference was hardly noticeable), however on closer scrutiny, it was found that one of mounting bushing of the bonnet was missing. Was promptly replaced. Central locking is a biggest pain. My 3 years old can open the car from inside even if I engage the central lock (that too, manually). Locking only disables opening from outside. Another problem the dealer who could not explain the features well. Also the manual is not of much help. Over-all, in-spite of some minor issues, I am quite happy with this car! I feel I have got a good deal for my money.

Good German baby for performance, reliability and road grip however less sensation in pick up compared to Swift or Fiesta...but please check the safety feature of Door Locking from inside..! There is no provision for this and it may open during driving. DANGER from Germans..? Vintage Audio Player, Simple Dashboard,...the worst of the lot for a 10 Lac car. Still conservative interiors and in the long run New Ford Fiesta or Linea with 1.6L Engine or Honda Diesel will kill this Car.
