You can trust Tata to deliver an automobile that carries an engine just apt for the Indian roads. The new Sumo Grande shall have 2.2L Direct Injection Common Rail (DICOR) engine. That produces 120bhp with maximum torque of 250NM. This was earlier present in the Safari range that took to Indian roads beautifully. It also comes with 5-speed manual transmission with a turning radius of 5.25m. It is also fitted with a variable geometry turbocharger.
The wheel base is longer up to 2550mm as compared to the current 2400mm. It has been designed in collaboration with AVL from Austria. It gives high quality of service owing to its twin overhead camshafts and 16 valves.

The style and looks of the new Sumo Grande resembles the Tata Xenon that carries its macho frontal look in a stately fashion. This time Tata Motors have made significant efforts on the overall looks of the car. The new design is far better than its bread-box look-like predecessors. You can expect the new Sumo Grande to be a family car that has an SUV look in the front but at the back it takes a shape of an MUV. It gives an all in one package to the customers where looks, comforts, value of money, fuel efficiency are all put together.
The new Sumo is taller and bigger than its predecessors. At the rear, you would find more space and cleaner seating arrangement that is plated with chrome. It is well complimented with clear tail lamps and rear wiper.
This time the car is fully loaded with all the features that you would expect in a luxurious SUV. The new model is accompanied with all the other luxuries of an SUV so you can find the power windows, adjustable steering height; spacious interiors and roof integrated AC. The second row has the armrests as well as a co-driver hand rest. This time the third row faces the road and not the sideways. Moreover you would also find the Dual AC with spate louvers for both the rows. It comes with a fitted Alpine CD/MP3 player with six speakers and a USB port. The speakers are fitted in the door as well. The overall look of the car is very smart with interiors well complimented with is beige interiors although the dashboard is a little disappointment.

The new Sumo Grande is supposed to be placed in a price band of INR 6.5 lac to INR 7.5 lac. The Sumo LX model is the basic model while the Sumo Grande GX would be the premium models with additional features. It would come with a two year warranty or 75000 kilometers whichever occurs first.
