While buying a new hatchback, what I look for is a favourable mileage along with well balanced cabin features. I considered the new Tata Indica e Xeta GLS and I finalised to purchase the model only after comparing it with every possible alternative.
Considering the traffic prone roads of India, Indica e Xeta GLS has a custom made engine cut out for Indian roads. Based on a 1193cc, Multi-Point Fuel Injection (MPFI) system, the power churning capacity goes up to 66 bhp at 5000 rpm and maximum torque generation is 100 nm at 2700 rpm. With a decent engine responsiveness, the mileage I get is one of the best for Indian roads.
Tata Indica e Xeta is capable of delivering a mileage of 14 kmpl on city roads and around 17 kmpl, while driving on highways. On the other hand, when talking in terms of comfort and convenience, Indica e Xeta might not be a favourable choice. Although, many standard features are available that cater to basic comfort needs.
Some of these features include manual air-conditioning system, power steering, remote controlled boot opening and fuel lid opening and more. On the safety front, however, the car lacks to a great extent. Apart from seat belts and other standard features, there is lesser scope for advanced passenger safety equipment.
