Spelling Luxury, Defining Style
Skoda has been spelled as luxury, comfort and style since
decades in the European car market. They have been known for their exclusive and
outstanding features since a long time that have been developed with the art of
superb technology. The new Skoda Superb is all set to give classy driving
experience to the ride with its superb technology and added new luxury features.
Skoda had entered Indian markets last year after much contemplation but the
success stories of Skoda Octavia has put all skepticism behind. The company has
witnessed tremendous response and now it plans to offer more luxury to the
Indian premium car segment. Skoda Octavia is a common sight on Indian roads and
soon the markets would witness the new Skoda Superb competing in the same
segment.
Skoda Superb is one of the most luxurious and one of the
most sophisticated automobiles that the Czech company has made. It has shed the
overall look of a Volkswagen Passat. Earlier only the front end carries the
typical Skoda looks and the rest looked more like a stretched Passat. The new
Skoda Superb is now available only in the hatchback model and has abandoned its
saloon look.
The Engine Drive
The power pack lies in the 2.8L Petrol 6V cylinder with 5
valves in each cylinder. It has a capacity to deliver 142 kw or 190 bhp @ 6000
rpm and generates a torque of 268 Nm @ 3200 rpm. It has a displacement of 2771
cc and compression ratio of 10.6:01. It can easily achieve a speed of 232km per
hour in just 9.4 seconds. The diesel version also has 6V cylinder with 4 valves
per cylinder that yields a power of 120 kw or 163 bhp @ 4000 rpm and generates a
torque of about 350 Nm @ 1250 rpm. It has a displacement of 2496 cc and
compression ratio of 18.5:01. It also offers twin clutch DSG automatic gear box
that offers a good alternative to the 6 speed manual gear box.
Inside Out
As the new Skoda Superb has shed its older looks of the
Passat, the new one is sure to mark a remarkable presence in the Indian market.
Some of its looks still have its features from its earlier version but with
broader shoulders and firmer grille. It has a larger wheelbase that means the
rear seat passengers can now enjoy more leg room.
The interiors are laden with luxurious genuine as well as
artificial leather with an eye-catching wooden décor. The new multi-media
steering wheel is sure to catch your attention. It carries a classy touch that
allows you to scroll through the in-built navigation system as well as
entertainment channels. The new Skoda Superb has ample room for front as well as
rear passengers. Even the front passengers have quite comfortable seats with
power adjustments and logically placed switchgears. Even the glove box is bigger
and this one has a capacity in the left door that can hold even a wet umbrella.

On the Roads and On the Pocket
You can choose your variant of Skoda Superb to choose from
the equipment and accessories required. It is going to be placed in the D car
segment which falls above the existing Skoda Octavia and well below the Merc
E-class segment. But all this has to wait! The company shall be importing the
cars later this year. So you can expect the new Skoda Superb in the Indian
markets around Diwali time.
