        Whats Good

The main thing any car enthusiast like the most is the pick up and its the best in this car. Second thing which i like the most is key less entry, push button start and that automatic opening of side view mirrors. The first of its kind in small cars when i bought it in November 2011. very royal feel. Those automatic side view mirrors we use have in Honda Civic at that time. And the main thing you get is in or out, start ignition and switch it off, lock the car or unlock it as many times as you need but no need to even pull out keys from your pocket. Last month we had been to Manali. Totally hilly stretch but the pickup was just excellent. Sitting arrangement best in its class. Best for city traffic even my wife also likes to drive it in city traffic. Even its easy to get in and out as it is must for daily city life. This was the first thing to be checked because earlier we had maruti esteem, zen. Well in one liner it the best diesel small car for indian cities and highways.

        What Can Improve

The only thing is after sales service which needs to be improved a lot. Secondly there should be a provision if one wants to change the music system.

Best small diesel car available on indian roads.

I bought my micra about 3 months back. I considered new fabia, polo, new i10 asta, maruti swift and jazz (All petrols and all top variants) before settling with micra XV. I did not consider i20 as I did not like its mediocre engine and driving position -it was good for those travelling at the back seat. Fabia-I liked the interiors and the looks. But previous experience with Skoda service (We have an octavia) was a big turn off. Polo-I thought was a bit cramped at the back. The dash was a bit high set and not suitable for a relatively shorter driver like me (my height is 168 cm). Besides both cars on test drive had only average performance. i10-I liked the engine response, but it was smaller in size and clearly a segment lower than other cars here. I got contrasting feed back about fuel efficiency also.Regarding maruti swif-I agree that its a great car to drive but I disliked the build quality and overall finish, especially cheap plastics inside. Also swift was due for a new model in March 2011. Jazz- my heart was with it initially. But my cousin has a jazz and I have more than 1000 km experience on it. I was not comfortable with its visibility at the driving position due to thick A pillar and quarter glass. And the base version of jazz costs nearly 1.5 lakhs more than the top XV version of micra. My brain succesfully controlled my heart and I went finally to the nissan dealer at EVM, Kochi. I liked the looks of micra (My cousin did not like the rear though). It has great visibility and a comfortable driving position. Key less entry was convenient and space inside was really good. (My knee was not hitting the dash board even after pushing forward the driver seat to full, which was a problem in i10, jazz and even fabia). Dealership experience was good and car was delivered on time. Driving micra was a joy except when you require more power like while overtaking or when climbing uphill with full load and AC- you have to really press the throttle to the full or downshift gear. Micra gives good performance above 1500-2000 rpm and performance was better than polo and fabia. Drive was comfortable otherwise and automatic AC was excellent. Gear shift was ok but not as refined as that of Jazz and the long throw was tiring. Clutch was a bit firm too compared to jazz. Stereo was reasonable but without USB coonnectivity. The best part was fuel efficiency. A word of caution about my mileage description of micra. My running is roughly 25% in city and 75% in highway. I noted that micra gives 13-14 km/l in city and 18-19km/l in highway with ac on all the time.. Overall my mileage now is 16-17 km/l with ac. Overall figure is full tank to full tank figure and there is an error of 1.5 to 1.7 km/l if we follow the trip computer in micra. (This error is verified thrice by me by full tank to full tank method.) So simple way is -Check the mileage as said by the trip computer and reduce 1.5 or 1.7 km/l from it to know the REAL mileage. Even then I am happy with micra's mileage. The biggest negatve I found was micra's low ground clearance. Larger bumps especially those that shaped odd touches your car unless you are careful. When you are careful and able to slow down, its ok. Overall I am happy with my choice . It indeed gets a lot of attraction while on road.

The features and pricing structure of all the three varients of "Nissan Micra" are undoubted very attractive. The only problem would be service stations and a limited warranty of 2 years or 50,000 Kilo meters which ever falls earlier.Since the company would take some time in establishing effective network of dealers/distributors and service stations, the customers are bound to suffer. It would be a satifying proposition to provide the customers with an extended warranty of 3 years or 1,00000 kilo meters run under standard conditions which ever falls earlier "at no extrea cost".Further, the company must also specify the kilo meters, the car is capable to achieve with every litre of petrol with "AC ON" within "CITY LIMITS".This will establish the credibilty of claims on petrol consumption by the company.

I took delivery of this car during the month of September 2010.Since then the car has done about 1600km only in chennai city.Good pulling capacity, very smooth, less noise inside the car.most of the occasion the car carries about four persons and the average fuel performance is 11.9/litter with A/C on.my only concern is the company do not have their own service station in chennai. Will some one tell me when thay propose to have service station in chennai.

I bought my Micra in October'12. Great car to drive and handles like dream, but Nissan should add Central Locking and at least front power windows for the Base Model. Nissan needs to improve its after sales service. Feedback from dealer or service center on enquiry is hardly forthcoming and you seem like dealing with Sarkari office. It took Nissan at Kolkata more than two months to fit my car with Music syste.

Exterior: Look wise the car is very good. Has low coefficient of drag. Exterior light are not new but very decent. Only thing is ORVMs are not body colored. Interior (Features, Space & Comfort): The car has enough space. Ride quality is excellent. The only feature I miss dearly is electric folding ORVM. AC of the car is very effective. Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox: I have driven this car for about 560 kms and for this distance the mileage came out to be 17.5 kmpl with ac all the time. Car was driven in city and highway both. Acceleration is pretty decent except in second gear with ac on. It struggles a bit there. Gearshift is smooth, no problems there. Ride Quality & Handling: Excellent ride quality, Handling is also very good. Noise level is low inside the vehicle. Final Words: Excellent car, the only nagging point is with this price no electric ORVM. Areas of improvement: Interior color, I think electric ORVM is reasonable demand in XL.

I took a test drive of micra and my experience was good. At idling, vibrations did filter through to the cabin and you could feel them the moment you touched the gear shifter. The gear shift is sticky. No at all slick and smooth as reported here. It takes long throws to change gears, and shifting is not smooth either. There is no clutch dead paddle. Clutch is hard. Steering is probably the best part of the experience. It is very light and fun to use. Engine performs poorly when just rolling off and at higher revs. Seats are good but not above others in its class and price. Rear seats are not spacious enough for a 6 footer though one may fit himself there. Overall, it is overpriced, offers nothing above the ordinary except for a light steering.

It has been quite some time since the launch of the new Micra and the hype surrounding it is slowly beginning to subside. Now it is time for the actual question. Was the car really worth the hype and is it truly a game changer for Nissan in India. Let's find out. First, lets get into some statistics. Since the launch of Nissan Micra, Nissan India sales have grown by around 20 times over the same period last year. Full credit to the Micra for the outstanding feat. Nissan, with its small network of 19 dealers, managed to sell around 1200 Micras in September. A ratio of around 60 cars sold per dealer. Well done Nissan. But in a market dominated by Swifts and i20s, is the Micra good enough to carry Nisan on its shoulders? Read on. http://automate4u.wordpress.com/2010/10/16/

Nissan has forayed into the diesel hatch market by launch of the Micra diesel. But how different is the new car from its petrol sibling and will it be able to take the fight to the big boys? We do a fact n figure analysis... The diesel variant is available in two trims XV at 6 lakhs and 6.45 lakhs for the top end XV premium. The car seems quite rightly priced to the normal eye, nearly Rs 65,000 dearer than its petrol variant. The XV premium variant gets a set of new sporty low profile tires with 15 inch alloys, a much missed feature in the petrol variant. A good new addition is of the body colored rear spoilers, which lends a much sportier character to the car. It also gets a leather cover for the seats and gear knob as well that justifies its premium branding. http://automate4u.com/2010/11/11/nissan-micra-diesel-worth-it/
