I own a Nissan Micra and have driven it for 6000 kms now, have had no issues with it at all. Totally reliable, just need fill the tank and forget about everything else. Its the best decision I have taken, giving me a mileage of 15.5 inside the city and about 17.5 on highways. I just love the car and would recommend the same to everyone.

        Whats Good

The main thing any car enthusiast like the most is the pick up and its the best in this car. Second thing which i like the most is key less entry, push button start and that automatic opening of side view mirrors. The first of its kind in small cars when i bought it in November 2011. very royal feel. Those automatic side view mirrors we use have in Honda Civic at that time. And the main thing you get is in or out, start ignition and switch it off, lock the car or unlock it as many times as you need but no need to even pull out keys from your pocket. Last month we had been to Manali. Totally hilly stretch but the pickup was just excellent. Sitting arrangement best in its class. Best for city traffic even my wife also likes to drive it in city traffic. Even its easy to get in and out as it is must for daily city life. This was the first thing to be checked because earlier we had maruti esteem, zen. Well in one liner it the best diesel small car for indian cities and highways.

        What Can Improve

The only thing is after sales service which needs to be improved a lot. Secondly there should be a provision if one wants to change the music system.

Best small diesel car available on indian roads.

I bought my micra about 3 months back. I considered new fabia, polo, new i10 asta, maruti swift and jazz (All petrols and all top variants) before settling with micra XV. I did not consider i20 as I did not like its mediocre engine and driving position -it was good for those travelling at the back seat. Fabia-I liked the interiors and the looks. But previous experience with Skoda service (We have an octavia) was a big turn off. Polo-I thought was a bit cramped at the back. The dash was a bit high set and not suitable for a relatively shorter driver like me (my height is 168 cm). Besides both cars on test drive had only average performance. i10-I liked the engine response, but it was smaller in size and clearly a segment lower than other cars here. I got contrasting feed back about fuel efficiency also.Regarding maruti swif-I agree that its a great car to drive but I disliked the build quality and overall finish, especially cheap plastics inside. Also swift was due for a new model in March 2011. Jazz- my heart was with it initially. But my cousin has a jazz and I have more than 1000 km experience on it. I was not comfortable with its visibility at the driving position due to thick A pillar and quarter glass. And the base version of jazz costs nearly 1.5 lakhs more than the top XV version of micra. My brain succesfully controlled my heart and I went finally to the nissan dealer at EVM, Kochi. I liked the looks of micra (My cousin did not like the rear though). It has great visibility and a comfortable driving position. Key less entry was convenient and space inside was really good. (My knee was not hitting the dash board even after pushing forward the driver seat to full, which was a problem in i10, jazz and even fabia). Dealership experience was good and car was delivered on time. Driving micra was a joy except when you require more power like while overtaking or when climbing uphill with full load and AC- you have to really press the throttle to the full or downshift gear. Micra gives good performance above 1500-2000 rpm and performance was better than polo and fabia. Drive was comfortable otherwise and automatic AC was excellent. Gear shift was ok but not as refined as that of Jazz and the long throw was tiring. Clutch was a bit firm too compared to jazz. Stereo was reasonable but without USB coonnectivity. The best part was fuel efficiency. A word of caution about my mileage description of micra. My running is roughly 25% in city and 75% in highway. I noted that micra gives 13-14 km/l in city and 18-19km/l in highway with ac on all the time.. Overall my mileage now is 16-17 km/l with ac. Overall figure is full tank to full tank figure and there is an error of 1.5 to 1.7 km/l if we follow the trip computer in micra. (This error is verified thrice by me by full tank to full tank method.) So simple way is -Check the mileage as said by the trip computer and reduce 1.5 or 1.7 km/l from it to know the REAL mileage. Even then I am happy with micra's mileage. The biggest negatve I found was micra's low ground clearance. Larger bumps especially those that shaped odd touches your car unless you are careful. When you are careful and able to slow down, its ok. Overall I am happy with my choice . It indeed gets a lot of attraction while on road.

The features and pricing structure of all the three varients of "Nissan Micra" are undoubted very attractive. The only problem would be service stations and a limited warranty of 2 years or 50,000 Kilo meters which ever falls earlier.Since the company would take some time in establishing effective network of dealers/distributors and service stations, the customers are bound to suffer. It would be a satifying proposition to provide the customers with an extended warranty of 3 years or 1,00000 kilo meters run under standard conditions which ever falls earlier "at no extrea cost".Further, the company must also specify the kilo meters, the car is capable to achieve with every litre of petrol with "AC ON" within "CITY LIMITS".This will establish the credibilty of claims on petrol consumption by the company.

My Nissan Micra XV petrol is a compact hatchback, which is highly attractive. It has body coloured bumpers and roof spoiler, which enhances its front appearance. Some exterior highlights of this car includes body coloured bumpers, body coloured door handles, radiator grille chrome plating and full wheel cover. The company has provided 14 inch steel wheels along with full wheel covers. Door mirror of this car can be adjusted electrically, which provide convenience. In spite of being a hatchback, the Nissan Micra XV is spacious which offers greater legroom and headroom. Dashboard of the car has sophisticated instrument cluster, which delivers excellent look to the car. I am highly impressed by the interior design of this car as it has black and greige colour scheme. Leather upholstery further adds charm to the interior of this hatchback. In terms of comfort, I give higher rating to the Nissan Micra XV. Front headrest of the car can be adjusted as per the need of the passengers. Other comfort features include steering tilt adjustment, power windows, power steering and central door lock. Three cup holder and two bottle holders are also provided in this stylist hatchback. Auto AC maintains a moderate temperature inside the cabin.

I was eagerly waiting for the launch of the Nissan Micra in the hatchback segment of India's car market. I recently purchased the high-end variant, XV Premium Diesel, of Nissan Micra and so far enjoyed driving the trendy hatchback around the city. The hatchback is perfect for driving in crowded cities, however, the car is definitely a little over priced. One of the most distinct qualities I find in my new Nissan Micra is the refreshing new exterior styling. The compact car makes a recognisable presence on Indian roads owing to its out of the box exterior designing. Even with a super compact exterior, I find the interior of Nissan Micra to be sufficiently spacious, moreover tended with optimum comfort equipment. Towards the interior, the hatchback has managed to impress based on various functional features like automated air-conditioning system, adjustable headrests, electronic power steering with tilt adjustment and an integrated audio system with 4 speakers. In terms of safety, Nissan Micra's high-end variant is probably not the most advanced in the market. However, the compact vehicle features safety equipment such as engine immobiliser driver seat airbags, central door locking and more. Overall, my experience with the new compact car Nissan Micra XV Premium so far has been more than what I expected.

I have recently purchased the new Nissan Micra XV after carefully analysing and testing all the variants. As the name suggest, Micra is a small hatchback vehicle that gives a bulbous look on the outside. The major advantage of this car is that it offers a lot in terms of technology and excellent design. Micra provides a combination of superb driving experience, trendy design and a compact structure. The bug-like exterior of the car comes with features like body coloured bumpers, outside door mirror and tailgate handles. Moreover, it also features a rear wiper, rear defogger, roof antenna, electric park and fold mirror. Coming towards the interior features, the luxurious cabin features automated air-conditioning system, adjustable front headrests and an integrated audio system with 4 speakers and anti pinch function. Various other interior equipment include power steering with tilt adjustment, front and rear power windows, central locking and the driver's side window that comes with auto-down and anti-pinch function. Nissan Micra is well equipped with standard safety measures including Anti-Braking System(ABS) with Electronic Brake Distribution(EBD), driver's seat and front passenger air bags. The car has an engine immobilizer that prevents the car from theft. In a nutshell, this compact vehicle is considered perfect for small families and is available at a reasonable price. This car consists of all the right elements from a spacious interior loaded with advanced technology to an easy to drive compact structure. Micra has become one of the most competent vehicles in the hatchback market owing to its well structured and cost effective design.

I BOUGHT A MICRA XVD PREMIUM IN AUG 2012. HAVE DRIVEN IT MAINLY IN DELHI CITY AND A FEW TRIPS TO NOIDA AND GHAZIABAD (TO GET THE HIGHWAY FEELING !). AM EXTREMELY DELIGHTED WITH THE PERFORMANCE OF THE CAR AND VERY PLEASANTLY SURPRISED WITH THE MILEAGE THAT I AM GETTING. WHILE THE ON BOARD COMPUTER SHOWS MILEAGE AS 23.3 KMPL I HAVE CHECKED FROM THE THE DISTANCE DONE WHILE FILLING THE TANK - AND THAT SHOWS CLOSE TO 26 KMPL ! THE STAFF AT NATH NISSAN HAVE BEEN VERY COURTEOUS AND HELPFUL. NO ISSUES WITH SERVICE EITHER. HOPE IT REMAINS LIKE THIS ONLY ! :-))

Price, Service cost, Ground clearance, ABS, Boot space, Power
