Three young boys were arrested in Ahmedabad on Wednesday while attempting to sell a stolen dismantled bike. Danilimda Police nabbed the culprits near Chandola when they were on a vehicle-checking drive.

The youngsters identified as Dhruval Darji (20), Sandip Patel (19) and Milan Pandya (20), on Wednesday, dismantled a Hero Honda Splendor Plus and stuffed the parts inside a Nano. They had plans of selling the components to a scrap dealer in order to clear off some old debts, but could not succeed in their plans.

The Danilimda police officials saw the Nano and observed parts of bike in the car, which made them suspicious. Upon being asked about the bike parts, the trio tried to avoid answering the questions. They admitted of the robbery only when they were taken to the police station.

Abdul Qazi, Head Constable, Danilimda Police, informed, "During their questioning, they said that Sandip had incurred some debts and was unable to pay as he was out of job. The pressure of creditors was increasing when he hatched a plan and he along with Milan stole a Hero Honda Splendor Plus bike belonging to Rakesh Pal, a resident of Bavla and a common friend, on December 23."

According to the investigators, Patel and Pandya knew each from work. They worked together at a factory in Bavla while Darji, a student of ITI, was a friend of the latter.

The three of them were planning to sell the bike as a whole but the fear of getting caught stopped them from doing so. They, then, decided to sell the bike in parts in the scarp market. After dismantling the bike, they placed the parts in the Nano car. According to police, the Nano was bought under Darji's name while Patel paid the initial instalments of the car.
