Mahindra & Mahindra, the largest Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) maker in India, declared the winners of the XUV 500 lucky draw on 14th February 2012 in Mumbai. The company opened the second phase of bookings for the XUV 500 on 25th January in 19 cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Pune, Nagpur and others. Since Mahindra & Mahindra gained an astounding response for the XUV 500 than the estimated 7,200 bookings, the company decided to carry out a lucky draw.
The company received more than 25,000 booking orders, which meant that there were three contenders for one XUV 500. Mahindra & Mahindra selected 7,200 winners from over 25,000 applicants by an automated procedure. The draw was conducted for the booking received from all the 19 cities so that every applicant was given a fair chance.
The validation of the entire lucky draw process was done by Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India Pvt. Ltd (DTTIPL), according to the agreed terms and conditions between DTTIPL and Mahindra & Mahindra. All details relating to the draw process were made available on the Mahindra XUV 500 website.
Mahindra & Mahindra also launched a new campaign for the XUV 500 at the end of last month, in order to emphasise on its international appeal via a TV commercial. The campaign was a huge success as the commercial gained more than 6.8 lac views on YouTube in a short span of 16 days.
People who have participated in the lucky draw can call up a toll free number, 1800-266-7000, to know if they have won the SUV. Mahindra & Mahindra will also be putting up names of the lucky draw winners on its website www.mahindraXUV500.com. The results will be available on the toll free number and the website from 15th February from 5 pm onwards. The winners will be contacted by their respective dealers. Those who have not been selected can take back their deposit of Rs. 80,000.
