Let’s look at a rendering of the Skoda Superb RS that’s been digitally prepared keeping in mind how the sedan and the station-wagon versions may look like if they make it to the market. Considering the RS versions are usually stacked-up as the top-end variants of the range, it will effectively sit above the current ‘Sportline’ variant.

The Superb Sportlineversion is powered by a 2.0-litrepetrol motor that produces 280bhp and 350Nm of torque. That’senough juice for the Sportline to accomplish the 0-100kmph run in 5.8s sec before topping out at an electronically limited 250kmph. However, an RS version would have to be quicker. So it is believed that the Superb RS could get the same motor that powers the VW Golf R. The 2.0-litre TSI motor we’re talking about produces 310bhp and 400Nm of torque, which is good for a 0-100kmph sprint in 4.6sec before maxing out at 267kmph. Although, the Superb RS may turn out to be slower than the Golf R with this engine (due to extra weight), it will still be fairly quicker than the Superb’s Sportline trim.

So far, Skoda hasnot told reporters about their intent to build the Superb RS, but we all know that the Superb has what it takes to adorn that RS badge. Let’s just wait and see.
