      The Volkswagen Group has begun building its team of IT specialists so that they can work on the areas of artificial intelligence, handling large amounts of data, virtual reality, smart production and connectivity.

      Over the next three years, 1,000 of these highly qualified IT specialists inducted into the system will help the brand gain the know-how needed to produce vehicles with autonomous driving capabilities. Dr. Karlheinz Blessing, Human Resources, said, "People who want to shape the future of mobility are coming to Volkswagen. We are tackling the major challenges of the future with the best people: digitalization, software development, E-mobility, autonomous driving and mobility services. For these fields, we are reinforcing our team with top-class experts."

      These experts will work towards creating solutions for connected solutions, large data analysis, mobility services, Industry 4.0 (smart factory), and virtual reality at the facilities located at Berlin, Munich, and Wolfsburg. Dr. Martin Hofmann, CIO of the Volkswagen Group, says: "The tasks we face are more varied and interesting than ever before. In the global mobility group Volkswagen, IT means: international cooperation, versatile working in fast, creative teams and the most advanced technology.
