The diesel version is propelled by a 2.0L turbocharged engine that is good for 148bhp of power and 350Nm of torque. This motor is coupled to a six-speed 'Powershift' automatic gearbox, which sends power to the front wheels.

The V40 Cross Country is basically the beefed-up version of the standard hatchback. It rides on 17-inch "Larenta" alloy wheels with brushed-aluminium finish. The vehicle is equipped with front curtain and knee airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, ESC, child safety etc. For passenger comfort and convenience, the Cross Country has leather seats, park assist system, cruise control, rear parking sensors with camera, etc.

The V40 Cross Country petrol competes against the Mercedes-Benz GLA, BMW X1 and Audi Q3. The vehicle will come as completely built-up unit to India. The Swedish luxury carmaker is also planning to launch the V40 hatchback in the Indian car market soon.
