Volvo India will introduce its luxury sport utility vehicle XC60 in the Indian market on November 24. While the company is yet to announce the price, it said the new vehicle will be packed with unique features including performance, advanced technologies and Scandinavian design. "Volvo XC60 has received high appreciation across the world since its introduction because of its unparalleled driving pleasure, contemporary styling, and advanced technological features," Volvo Auto India Managing Director Paul de Voijs said in a statement.
The company has already started taking bookings for the model which will be imported as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) in India. The XC60 will be packed in with some technological innovations like a Laser and Camera assisted Automatic Braking (City Safety). The system will use the laser and the camera technology automatically to mitigate a collision if the driver does not respond in time. Volvo XC60 will mark the Swedish car company’s foray into the compact luxury SUV segment.
The new Volvo XC60 will be the third offering by Volvo as Volvo XC90 suv and Volvo S80 sedan are already doing fine in the market. This new smaller car will target its foes including the Audi Q5 , Freelander 2 and the recently launched BMW X3. The company is working sincerely on expanding its portfolio in the Indian market and the new launch will definitely help this major in doing so. It will come equipped with a 2.4 Litre Turbodiesel CRDi engine and a 3.2 Litre MPFI Petrol engine with All Wheel Drive(AWD) along with all those high end luxury and safety features that the brand is popular for and will be priced competitively between Rs.38 to Rs.45 Lakh.
