Volvo S60, a full size luxury sedan which has been witnessing a continous surge in the popularity in the Indian market, has won the ‘full size luxury sedan of the year award’ for the year 2012. The award was given by NDTV Car & Bike Awards 2012, in recognition of its sporty and distinct looks. The fascinating Volvo S60 was also nominated for the ‘Car of the year ’for the current year. The Volvo S60 model was launched in the country in the starting of this year.
The award was given at a small ceremony held at the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida. From Volvo Auto India’s side, the award was received by its Marketing & PR Director Mr. Sudeep Narayan, and company’s Managing Director, Tomas Ernberg.
While commenting on the firm’s achievement, Mr. Tomas Ernberg said, “With head-turning design, envious technology, and a fascinating array of innovative safety features – Volvo S60 has redefined choice for the discerning customers in its segment. The unique features of the Volvo S60 include World’s first ‘Pedestrian Detection’ with full auto brake, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Advanced Control with Torque Vectoring, Laser Assisted Automatic Braking and Active Bending Lights. The car has been appreciated throughout the world for its power packed performance, and has received a series of prestigious awards, so far.
