The Swedish luxury car maker Volvo, a fully owned subsidiary of Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, is said to be mulling over the option of launching its luxury sedan Volvo S60 in the Indian market in the first quarter of this year. As per the industry sources, the new Volvo S60 is likely to be rolled-out in the country by next month. The company has already launched its Super luxury crossover – XC60 – in India, last year.

The S60 sedan would be launched in the Indian market as a completely built unit (CBU), same as all other India portfolio models of the company. In India, the Volvo S60 will be fighting for space with the likes of BMW 3-Series, Mercedes Benz C-Class and Audi A4.

The new Volvo S60 borrows a number of its styling cues from its sibling XC60 including the same aggressive front and a coupe like roofline. Moreover the new luxury sedan would be boasting the same 2.4-litre turbo diesel engine that already powers the crossover XC60.

The turbo engine of the S60 sedan is capable of delivering a maximum power of 205bhp.

However, the company is yet to make an official announcement regarding the launch of this car in the Indian market.
